SLAM Details

What is SLAM?

Simple Lean Agile Management is a precision methodology to unify and synchronize contractor/government teams that deliver solutions as mission partners.

SLAM takes ideas from Lean, Agile, and previous experience in military and consulting roles, distilling a straightforward process for predictable, sustainable delivery of exceptional quality, faster than most other practices.

Commitment Culture

SLAM carves tasking into small, well-defined assignments which can be completed in less than a day. Since the tasks are discrete, user-driven, and testable, we ask team members to commit to delivering a set of these tasks in each 10-day Sprint. This is their "commitment" for the delivery cycle, and we demonstrate completion to users and "ship" completed work every 10 working days. The commitment helps us do away with the wasted overhead of "Status Meetings".  We spend that time delivering tested products to users, rather than briefing PowerPoint graphics.

Improvement by Data & Certifications

Committed work means results. SLAM shows people how in short spans of time you can have DEMO worthy work to present to stakeholders and make your team shine as the superstars they are. That data is shown in many tools we will show you how to use such as Confluence and Jira.

Cadence: Planning vs Production

Disciplined Cadence is not only a core responsibility of SLAM, it is what makes it so successful. Having meetings set and accountability of committed workloads is how to make your team succeed. SLAM gets rid of the overscheduled workload and miscommunication by having everyone attend a few meetings/ceremonies throughout the week that make everyone on the same page and your team successful.

Transparency Tools & Actions

SLAM builds transparency through collaboration tools, automated dashboards, and trusting relationships where we share both successes and shortfalls. Jira and Confluence provide central "C4" while team members report concretely on daily progress or barriers.
